Kindergarten- Pumpkin

Kindergartners learned to draw pumpkin in a step by step directions. We discussed about the elements of art (line, size and shape) and introduced the horizon line. We also talked about overlaping and discussed about how the pumpkin appears closer than the tree. Finally, we used liquid watercolors to paint.

Our art curriculum is based  on exploration in arts and provides opportunity for students to express and explore with wide range of materials through drawing, painting, working with clay, construction, fabric and craft materials .  Art lessons and projects are developed to demonstrate the understanding of how to use elements of art( line, space, shape and form, colors, texture) and principles of art(Balance, emphasis, movement, proportion, rhythm, unity, and variety). Each grade level will have experience working with a variety of materials and  explore different genre like portraits, landscapes, still life, cityscapes, cartoon, abstract etc., Each grade will be introduced to art history and  learn about the lives and work of masters and contemporary artists and create a master piece inspired by famous  painting from art history.
