SNOWMAN IN PERSPECTIVE

In 2nd grade class, we discussed why perspective is important in art and how it has been used. Students understood the meaning of perspective in a simple term and the importance of the three dimensional feeling on a flat surface like a paper. We also discussed how interesting the art would be if there is perspective by looking at a few examples.

Our art curriculum is based  on exploration in arts and provides opportunity for students to express and explore with wide range of materials through drawing, painting, working with clay, construction, fabric and craft materials .  Art lessons and projects are developed to demonstrate the understanding of how to use elements of art( line, space, shape and form, colors, texture) and principles of art(Balance, emphasis, movement, proportion, rhythm, unity, and variety). Each grade level will have experience working with a variety of materials and  explore different genre like portraits, landscapes, still life, cityscapes, cartoon, abstract etc., Each grade will be introduced to art history and  learn about the lives and work of masters and contemporary artists and create a master piece inspired by famous  painting from art history.
