2nd Grade - CUBISM

2nd graders learned about Cubism by looking at the artworks of Georges Braque, Pablo Picasso, Juan Gris and Jean Metzinger. We discussed about how and why cubism was invented and how the 2 dimensionality was emphasized. Students then created a simpler version of cubism by dissecting and fracturing the subject into geometric shapes. 2nd graders loved this project as they were fun and colorful and produced creative and different art pieces.
