4th graders explored the portrait paintings of the two great portrait artists Rembrandt and Pablo Picasso and learned about their lives. We learned about baroque and cubism art styles and movement and how Picasso's art changed from realistic to abstract.

Beautiful quotes from the artists ....

"The deepest and most life like emotion has been expressed and that's the reason they have taken so long to execute"- Rembrandt Van Rijn

"Are we to paint what's on the face, what's inside the face or what's behind it ?"- Pablo Picasso
