2nd Grade - Henri Rousseau inspired jungle painting

We started off the class by learning the life of Henri Rousseau and his jungle paintings. Students saw different examples of Rousseau's paintings. We also discussed about the characteristics of Rousseau's paintings such as different shades of green color for leaves, beautiful jungle scene with animals and wild flowers. Students learned how to draw a monkey and I encouraged the students to fill the whole paper with different leaves and plants in the jungle. We used different shades of greens with liquid watercolors.
